The Bosch Miter Saw is a pretty impressive piece of kit if you’re into power tools; this Flash piece was designed to show off the depth of the tool’s feature set and to show the tool in use, across a variety of scenarios, to help users envision themselves using the tool. It also tied into Bosch’s partners in retail so to facilitate ordering.
Like most work from 2003, it’s a bit dated (especially in terms of dimension), but I include it here because I enjoyed the challenge of building a 360 rotational view of the tool without using video (this version of Flash didn’t really allow for it). In fact, video-in-Flash was not really a thing back in 2003, but I was able to use still images to create GIF-like animations within the larger scene. 360-views, also not a thing in 2003—this required quite a bit of camera wizardry and hardware.
One quick note: the video above was taken using a "near-Gold" build, but not the actual finished product, which is not compatible modern Flash emulators. Some functionality has been disabled to make it work in Ruffle.
